Educational Talent Search Program

          The purpose of the Educational Talent Search Program (ETSP) is to assist participants in developing the academic and motivational skills necessary to:

*Become better students

*Graduate from high school or obtain a GED

*Enroll in college

          The ETSP is funded by the United States Department of Education, so the participation in the program is FREE. We service approximately 1,300 participants in the Los Angeles and surrounding area.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:

1) You are between the ages of -27 and attend one of the following target sites:

Middle School	High School
Foshay LC	Jordan
Markham	Locke
Gompers	Verbum Dei

2) You meet the ETSP family income requirements and/or are a potential first-

generation college student; neither parent graduated from a 4-year college.-

3) You have the potential to pursue college and would benefit greatly from the services of

the program.

4) You are a citizen or permanent resident of the United States.

PROGRAM SERVICES:

*Academic and personal advising

*Workshops on (the following subjects:) -Meeting college Requirements -Career Exploration -SAT and PSAT preparation classes and -Study Skills

Saturday classes to help students improve their Math and English skills

*College visitations (Private, UC's and Cal State Universities)

*Cultural and recreational activities (Magic Mountain, theatrical plays, concerts)

*Personalized educational plans for each student
